Eighty years since the beginning of the famous, highly decorated 100th Battalion.
The father of one of my Aunties was a 100th vet., so I had the honor of meeting him before he died. Also, I once went to a wedding at the 100th Bn clubhouse that still exists in Honolulu. And one of these surviving vets lives at the senior care facility where my mother in law lives, although I’ve never met him. The 100th is still very much known and honored here in Hawai’i. Their’s was a particularly hard earned badge of honor.
