    Big suits for sale

For sale: 1 vintage and 2 modern suits, all size 46R, all appropriate for winter. I’d be keeping them, but I seem to have outgrown the size. So take a look and prepare to look stylish during the long winter ahead.

Here's the first one, two more to follow in the next post, dimensions below:

Vintage dark charcoal red fleck 3-button suit
I bought this suit through the FL a while ago. It’s a pretty heavy weight vintage wool suit, dark gray/black with red flecks. Fabric feels like boiled wool, although there is no ID. Has union label and tag reading “styled on Fifth Avenue, tailor made clothes,” era is 50s-60s. Jacket is 3-button, center vent, ½ lining. Trousers have double pleats, suspender buttons, crotch gusset (unusual) and not lined.
Trying to recoup most of what I paid $150 shipped CONUS. Less if combined with suits below.

Here are two size R46 modern suits picked up at a local consignment shop, very good condition, few signs of wear, marked Famous-Barr (a Midwest dept store). Jackets unvented and fully lined. Trousers clean, double pleats, suspender buttons and lined to the knee. Dimensions are nearly identical, see below (I’m sure they belonged to the same person).

The fleck suit is 100% wool, black with gray flecks that look white or light blue depending on the light.

The double-breasted is 85% wool, 15% silk, black on black tiny stripes. Although marked “Silk Sharkskin,” it doesn't have the iridescent quality of what I call sharkskin, looks like wool. Both are medium-heavy weight, substantial in heft and recently cleaned and pressed.

One suit $45 shipped CONUS, both suits $80 shipped CONUS.

Bump and price break - 140 shipped for the vintage - 40 each shipped for the modern - will make deals for multiples.

The modern suits have a distinct vintage vibe and the vintage has it in spades....

Kind of let these slide to the back burner, but they still need to go --- it's still cold out there...
