Bought this from the Exchange & Mart. Ken was selling his jackets for about £150 as I recall. I was about to start my Design course in Staffs polytechnic and this was my one and only jacket. Slept in it many a drunken sleepover. It's a bit on the tight side now.
Yes they're original. Not tubular for the sleeves but great quality. Wish I'd kept the Exchange & Mart advert. Thinking about it I reckon I paid £125.
Interesting, with those solid knits and intact liner, it almost looks like it hasn't been worn very much.
My old 1980s Aero A2 had similar knits, they were solid as you like - probably more so than the ones on my modern A2s. Didn't have the snaps up the wind flap but it was made a couple of years later than this one.
It looks better with holes than with snaps. The snaps were useful for my brother who liked to have it buttoned in the middle so to speak. I was a bit miffed as he didn't ask.
I’m an only child, but had a sibling of mine punched snaps in a jacket that he’d borrowed, I’d have swung for him...
It had got to tight for me so I said he could have it. Back then it was just a jacket I'd bought from the Exchange and mart. Collecting and reproduction etc was far off in the future.
