I’m noticing most of the pictures of Badalassi are in the brown colors ... does anyone have a picture of a black jacket (assuming black is an option)? Thank you in advance.
I haven't seen a black version of it as well. I do hope Aero offers it or someone really. It makes for a great pair of boots as well from what I've seen.
@Jin431 I know I'm breaking my personal rules and want to be less active in order to protect myself for losing self-control again if you know what I mean as I simply have enough jackets. However from time to time I'm watching specific threads on TFL (not all and not as excessive as in the past) and have just seen your message regarding black Badalassi. The only company I know is The Few (former RMCNZ employees) who offer (not sure if they still do) black Badalassi...however this Badalassi is Buffalo. Here's my jacket....craftmanship of The Few is as good as RMC IMO...I really like this jacket. Wearing a size 38. Usually I wear size 40 and sometimes also 38 (Freewheelers, RMC, The Few) but this size 38 is bigger than my The Few A-1 size 38 made of Badalassi.
I spoke to Carrie yesterday and she said that Aero and Thedi do not offer it black ... apparently too many leathers and color varieties to stock. Shame because Robbie’s jacket above looks fantastic.
Welcome back and great to hear from you. Hope you are well. Thank you for sharing your black badalassi jacket, it fits you well it looks to me like a straight zip chp with button snap cuffs and I really like that design. The hide looks beautiful as we would expect from badalassi tannery, the craftsmanship is well done. Is the buffalo badalassi also squeaky? Like the cowhide version I'm sure they can only store enough leather but maybe in the future they will offer it but maybe not. Thedi does use the cowhide brown/black canetto which looks like badalassi but is more grainy.
I agree. I would’ve thought thought with the other “brown” options the least they could do is throw in a black
They sold a lot of Badalassi jackets for a while, don't know if they still do, but a grainy black Bootlegger would be my next jacket.
@Jin431 Good to hear from you and thank you for your kind words. I hope you're well, too....sitting most of the time in the home office (like many of us), fortunately being very busy at work recently which keeps me away from buying jackets The black Badalassi is not as squeaky as the other cow Badalassi ones. The grain is also very different compared to others and it is teacore....even if it is almost unworn you can see it already at the cuffs and hem.
@Imuricecreamman Thanks, man! I think so, too. You can hardly find black Badalassi on the Internet..just watch straps and black Minverva Box Badalassi on www.tokopedia.com but I'm sure it's cow and not buffalo.
@TheBigEraser Thanks, yes it does also remind me of the TMC Mobster also in terms of jacket sizing as they also turn out bigger than standard size 38
Yes same as the Mobster jacket that the Few used to make for RM's Joe McCoy. I have the JM HH one made by the Few.
That's good to know that you are well, glad you are preoccupied too lol. Same here just working and trying to wear the jackets as much as I can while it's still a little cool here. That is so intriguing, the grain looks really good with that one. Teacore is always cool but we all have so many jackets it might take a while to properly see the results ha! I wonder why black isn't offered more when it looks that good. I do see a lot of Indonesian boot makers offer black Minerva badalassi. Is that any different than the one they use for jackets?
