Thanks Willybob! I took that on the High Trail looking West. At that point the High Trail is also the JMT and PCT. The lake in the background is Shadow Lake, and I was halfway between Agnew Meadows trailhead (between Mammoth Lakes and Devil's Postpile National Monument) and 1000 Island Lake. The valley behind me was the San Joaquin River Gorge.

An Akubra color question for anyone: Charcoal vs Carbon Gray....which color is darker?

EDIT: Moving this question to "Ask a question..."

I believe charcoal is the same as graphite grey, which is darker than carbon gray.

Good to see you and your hats around here. I like that hound. Cattle dog mix?

On the Everything Australian sale, the Campdraft in Bluegrass Green and Silverbelly are ready to ship. One neat thing they have added since the last time I ordered a hat is that you can pay in 4 monthly payments so you don't have it all on the card at once. That's great! A new way to slip the cost by the wife! LOL ;)

That depends on which size and/or color you order. Try to order a Bluegrass Green in size 62 and it'll inform you you'll face the dreaded three month wait.

And sometimes much longer than three months... I'm at almost 3-1/2 months wait and EA just replied to my inquiry that my fawn Campdraft will ship from the factory "in 1-2 weeks". It'll be well over four months from order to my doorstep, but hopefully will be worth it. I must have ordered the day AFTER they finished up the last production run! :D

Yeah, I guess I should have prefaced that with a size 59! Sorry for you big headed people! LOL Seriously though, even with the wait there are some good prices. Now it's only a decision of what.

How much should I expect an Akubra Traveller to shrink? I am a 58 and I like a slightly looser rather than tighter fit. I know Akubra are made with some shrinkage in mind, so they start a bit loose and end exactly on the mark. How does that work with the pliofelt and cotton sweatband?

Well, it's the leather sweatband that's the issue.

Cotton does shrink! and potentially the felt, to some degree!
