IMO the oil-infused CXL is extremely resistant to stains and scuffs.
The biggest worry I have is I have some other boots (admittedly not CXL, and more casual stuff), where the top leather start to get scratched / scuff and you can see the fibrous leather texture underneath e.g. you can see the suede inside. To me that suggests, that the boot is going to be a lot less durable, and is something I want to avoid with these boots if possible

Can someone answer me the question what to do if metal buttons have become green on the edge? I bought it like that for cheap and my plan was to re-paint that thing, but I didn't gave a closer look on the buttons. Now I wonder if I even should invest the time to re-paint it if I can't fix the buttons. Maybe I should put it to the tailor and ask if he can make some new buttons in? Thing is I don't have a tailor in my area that's specialized in leather. And if it's expensive I might as well forget about it.

I wouldn't touch them. I would clean everything well and keep them in raw brass. It is simply oxide developed with the time of disuse.

I have an old “The bridge” wallet remained unused for many years…after the cleaning it developed a patina with use and it looks perfect now without any oxidation. The difficult part is the Leather cleaning. I’ve used some Gentle soap (Marseille soap because is what I have). Maybe is better some saddle soap, but i don’t know with that type of Leather.

Thanks for your help guys, the vinegar actually did work. It seems the previous owner(s) conditioned that jacket pretty heavy with black leather conditioner, that's why there's a lot of black colour in addition around the edges of these buttons.

Two Bronson Mfg questions:

Like a lot of folks, I’m having to restock clothes for a mandated return to the office and was thinking about getting a couple of pairs of pants from Bronson.

1. Has anyone from the US ordered from them very recently? I’m wondering what the tariff situation is with these today?

2. I need some sizing advice. They supply good measurements, but it’s not clear to be if they are really doubling the waist measured straight across the garment or something else. And should I expect shortage or stretching on these?

Thanks!

Did Navy pilots wear L-2B or MA-1 flight jackets or was it just the USAF?

Just the USAF. (Btw if this could be moved to our general QA thread it would be great.)

Navy and AF procurement generally remained separate for a while despite the occasional attempts at combining.

Can I move it or is that admin only?

What was the Navy equivalent of the L-2B?
