Greetings Fiends,
Several weekends ago I had the pleasure of participating in a large reenactment at Camp Roberts, CA.
There were about 300 participants recreating German, American and Commonwealth forces.
An extra treat for this battle was the inclusion of large amounts of armour, both Allied and Axis. Among the german forces was the Tiger tank seen in "Saving Private Ryan".
We we were also honoured to have three veterens of Normandy, including two members of the 101st airborne, as well as a chap from the all black 761st Tank Battalion
After the battle, there was Cafe in the dining hall, that did big business both at the bar and with supper. There was a live band present for the evening as well. The Green Howards invited my unit, the 1st British Airborne, to join them for a Regimental Dinner. We also had the company of the ladies from the 45th Field Hospital, so it was quite the Gala. The Regimental event had fine food, wine, and an array of bewildering rules that left diners having to pay out "Fines" to the president of the mess. Most of these penalties were songs, some poetry reading, a radio broadcast skit, and some push-ups for one recalcitrant trooper. "CTF"
There were a few photographers out there capturing the action. You may like to take a look through this album and see some of the fine pics. This is from our Sgt. Mjr's stash...

I've been trying to dragoon other reenactors to the way of the "Fedora" so hopefully we'll get a few new members, and perhaps some ladies of the nursing profession, as well. If you'd like to visit our website and learn more about reenacting, why not visit: http://www.britishairborne.org/
