Brexit Sale on In-Stock Eastman and ELMC Items

Those who are interested in any Eastman (ELC & ELMC) products, we're evaluating and watching the Brexit-related events unfold right now before adjusting prices, assuming that proves necessary. Market analysts really have a limited opinion of any meaningful measure right now, which is largely just that we should expect wild volatility before stabilization is reached, and stabilization of any measure is likely not before a few weeks, and that may not be the end in the nearer long term.

Fyi, what we do to determine a price on an item purchased where a foreign currency rate of exchange must be factored in is to study the trading range of the two currencies in the last 3-6 months and then set our price to commensurate within about 7 points plus or minus of that range to allow for normal ebbs and rises. Calculating and uploading prices for, say, 60 items, is a massive amount of work, and a price needs to be something a consumer can rely on and not be seen as fluctuating with any sort of regularity. We usually make a serious price review every six months, though the rates are studied weekly, and daily in extreme cases as is the case now and back in 2008 when the markets went belly up.

What we can't do is entertain frequent price changes to reflect volatile market swings, which would be the case now if we started setting new prices. Whenever price changes based on shifts in exchange rates occur, if the trend is yielding to a lower price, it means everything in our inventory must be sold at some amount of loss because it was purchased at a higher exchange rate, as was the case in 2008 and as would be the case now, so when we do go about setting a new lower price, we want to have some confidence that a trading range has been established that allows us to not lose or overcharge on the new stock that will be purchased thereafter.

The present uncertainty and volatility is not conducive to setting a new price that takes into account long-term sales stability for re-stocking goods and items not stocked needing to be ordered even though it seems pretty obvious we won't see trading around 1.60 GBP/USD in the immediate near future, so we will study the news and rates each day and make a reasoned determination on what the prices should be (if any change proves needed) on any ELC and ELMC product as soon as market forces seem to reflect a trading range. If we just assumed that the rate for the market's close on Friday June 24, 2016 is the new middle ground, I can illustrate here what that would look like for two popular ELC and ELMC jacket styles:

ELC Original-Maker Rough Wear 27752 A-2 is currently $1, 200.00 and would become $1, 025.00 - $175.00 savings.

ELMC Californian is currently $1, 295.00 and would become $1, 100.00 - $195.00 savings.

What we are now prepared to do in order to continue moving items in stock is to offer a price that reflects the trading close of June 24, 2016 for all in-stock ELC and ELMC items, and not items not in stock needing to be ordered. All ELC and ELMC items that are currently in stock can be purchased in the short run for this special pricing, which is a discount and is subject to change and termination without notice. Items purchased that are not in stock will be sold for the regular, non-discounted prices listed on our website. Should new pricing appear on our website that is higher or lower than current regular pricing listed on our website and/or the discounted pricing, such posted prices will become the regular prices until further notice.

Those interested in purchasing at the discounted pricing may do so only by first contacting us at the office contacts listed on our website, where we then can quote you a price for the item(s) you want and offer payment solutions via the website or all other means we currently accept.

These are very challenging conditions, the precise likes of which we have not ever seen, but the general scenario of a currency shedding value rapidly is not something alien to us and we hope this discounted offer as presented today is received as the most reasonable way to address the issue. If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Surely...you could make adjustments by just cutting an arm off the jacket, or put a bullet through the back of the jacket or put 3 extra promises on the usual ticket price.

Which is what the Brexit leave voters have done to our country....and others : /

Sorry to hear our screwed up country's voters have screwed up your pricing system though.
