Can anyone identify this hats age?

My daughter found this hat in a distant relatives house. I am not the expert on woman's hats. It is marked Dobbs FairLady. Size 7. Not sure how old it is or in fact, anything about it. I might be interested in finding a new home for it after I learn a little about it. Anyone?

Looks to me from style and materials likely a 1940's "topper"

It has a riding habit influence - so it's a bit sporty but would have likely been worn with a suit, hair neatly in chignon or rolled up against the nape of the neck - or maybe in a snood!

PLEASE let me know if you want to find a new home for it, since I have a lovely gray suit it would look rather charming with! :)

(of course it could be later, but it certainly has the 40's flair about it)

I agree, Hamilton Honey, it certainly looks 40s to me. The fact it is on a child in the photo just makes it look larger than if it were on an adult.

I would say it is from about 1938 - 45, just by style. This style was very popular in those years.
