Canta y no llores - tequila!

I gave up on tequila a long time ago until I recently tried this cocktail at restaurant in Oakland.

Carter Beats the Devil (a Flora original)

2 oz El Tesoro Reposado Tequila
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1/2 oz. organic agave nectar
1/4 oz. del Maguey Minero Mescal
20 drops (eye dropper) of chili tincture*
*To make chili tincture, cover Thai chilis with overproof rum for two weeks, strain.

Put all ingredients in a cocktail shaker, add ice, shake well and pour, straining out the ice.​

Though I do enjoy the margarita, I prefer sipping my tequilas. Currently I've been enjoying a Sauza 100 anos reposado, but have gone through my share of other reposados and anejos. I liked Corazon and Milagro; did not enjoy Patron.

El Mayor Anejo is my poison. It is not available in Canada but I always grab couple of bottles whenever I get to NYC. There is something about tequila, it does lift my mood.

I have to second Tres Generaciones, it's my favorite sipping tequila, I prefer the anejo.
