Anyone like this. Too expensive for me this week . Its twin only brought USD150 earlier in the week. Was I right ...was I wrong?

Cookie, I won the 7 5/8 Borsalino Stockman from the same seller and only paid $113.61. There is some water damage where the crown meets the brim but a wider ribbon will take care of that problem.
The one you posted was the best of the lot of three.
The third had very significant water damage issues.

It's a 7 1/2 LONG OVAL in new condition, from
before Borsalino took a dive. Just my size. I was quite interested
and would have paid that much gladly... if I didn't
already have other Borsalinos and other hats of
that style.

Personal choice. It beats the hell out of a modern
Borsalino for twice the price.

I totally agree. The one I have easily beats any of the modern Borsalinos I have.

People who get good deals on eBay have to learn somewhere
about hats and their value. You learned from this one without
spending a dime. Well done.

Fact is, there are always more good hats coming in
to eBay. Next time you'll have more knowledge and
a better idea of what to expect. You'll see another
good one soon.

I was watching this too as it is my size but I passed after it hit three figures. I would have had to get it dyed and was worried about musty moldy smells as the others had obvious water spots. But I am glad they turned out to be a good find for others! As mentioned, a good learning experience.
