Starting or BIN seller prices do not a market indicate. Sold listing links would be more useful when illustrating the outrageous inflation in vintage hat prices.
I just got this Dobbs Rancher Thirty for $70, BIN, Alan. The other side of the pendulum.

Pie-in-the-sky prices drive up the expectations of sellers with little to no knowledge of the market. This skews the market for those looking to participate in it. This affects all of us who collect and enjoy collecting anything.

On the flip side, I've had Japanese buyers pay too bloody much for hats I've listed, and have happily taken their money. (shrug)

Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Well said.

I agree. To say that it doesn't affect us as collectors is not accurate.

LOL...now that's sweet coming from the guy offering $1300 for a MacLachlan.
Hahaha! Touché. [emoji23] More than touché, you massacred me.

Well, that's just 'cause I need it to complete my 100 collection, and nobody responded when I offered less money, or even now. Market value, and all that.

So, what do you think of the Dobbs 30 I posted, HJ? Which decade it's from, felt quality?

The Bride? There wasn't a bride in Kung Fu... Those Chinese monks were too smart for that.

Are you getting your TV shows mixed up?

Not mixed up, just a connection across David Carradine's career. He portrayed Caine (Grasshopper) as well as Bill in the Kill Bill movies. The Bride gets her revenge in the end. Just saying...;)

Ah! I never wanted to watch those Kill Bill movies. If I wanted to have ugly feelings, I could just remember how it was with my second wife, you know?
