I don't think of it as blame, but more like credit!

WOW... that arrived quickly! Was expecting middle to end of next week. Then tracking said Monday... then knock at door today. Colorado to FL. Awesome!!

Well here it is and how it looks as it arrived.

The sweatband is soft and actually a lot nice shape than I thought. It could use a stitch or two to reattach completely.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

And here are some pics of the newspaper that was shoved behind the sweatband. Denver Post March 27, 1904 and November 26, 1903.

Now onto some brushing and shaping.

    Best,
    Joe

Great hat! Looks like a lot of history too.

Some of the other guys probably have specific recommendations, but you might go for a leather treatment for that sweatband.

Thanks Daniel.. I was thinking that too... the sweat though really is in a lot better shape than it looks in the photos... very soft and pliable.. not stiff and cracky at all.

    Best,
    Joe

I gave it a real good brushing... and just a hand crease. Wow.. this thing really shaped up.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Incidentally... the newspaper the seller used to pack the shipment was also the Denver Post... but just a bit more recent [emoji3]

    Best,
    Joe

I’ve noticed that I get a lot of offers from ebay sellers lately. Has a new seller’s tool been added or something?

In any case, in a moment of weakness this hat that I’ve been looking at for a long time was offered at a very reasonable price. My resolve crumbled:

A relatively new feature. I’ve used the “send offer” option after a week or so of multiple watchers (digital tire kickers) fails to produce a sale.

I've gotten a few "discount" offers from seller's on items that I'm watching.

Beautiful hat, Brent! I have one by Optimo, and that braid looks exactly the same. Congratulations!

There’s another Milan VS in my size on eBay now too. The seller won’t come down so it’s been relisted several times. I’ve bought a couple VS hats on ebay. :)

Thanks. Some of my best hats have come from tips from fellow Lounge members, and I also appreciate getting a heads up.

I’m leaving the other VS Milan for someone else...unless it comes way down in price.

Just received this Stetson Featherweight today. Its ridiculously light and soft and is easy to shape. I'm not sure how well it will keep the bash, but so far has stood up well. Not sure it's age, but it was found with a large collection of 30's hats, so it's probably close to that. Needs some more cleaning and maybe a steaming to make it whole again.
