I'm super bummed, I just bought a hat off of ebay that was described as a 7 1/2, but it got here and it is only a 7 1/8. It's a Biltmore Arcadia Beaver Blend. I'm fairly certain the seller never looked for a tag. It is a nice hat though. My question is, do I see if they will let me return it or do I try to sell it myself? I payed $56 including shipping. I can't find anything about the hat online either.

I should add this is my first ebay hat, being new into vintage hats, and it was a swing and a miss. I wish it fit!

I say return it. Those stingy brims are hard to sell and even more so at 7 1/8.

Don’t ask the seller if you can return it. Go through eBay’s system and say you’re not happy with the hat and check the box that says it is not as described. Attach your photo proof and eBay will open a case. Even if the seller has a no return policy eBay will make them accept the return, electronically send you a pre-paid return shipping label and all you have to do is box it up and mail it. It’s really easy and you’ll get all your money back including shipping and taxes in just a few days. Don’t ask me how I know this process so well.

Don’t give up on the vintage hat market. For all the disappointments it’s worth it when you find a real gem.
