Good win on that for Robert. Looks to be '36 to '40. I wonder if there's a name for this particular style, as the braid is different from a Sennit.

MacLachlan Hats ran an ad on the inside cover of the 1953 Hat Life Yearbook:

Very interesting that they tout themselves as the largest manufacturer of $50 and $100 hats in the world.

Very cool ad Jimmy. Thanks for posting it. Most of us are familiar with the Silver Beaver Mac ad that states it went for $50. I have to wonder what their $100 hat was like? To my eye this Mac I just won seems comparable at least to the Forties out there and maybe a 7X Clear Beaver level.

I saw the Mac, but the colored liner threw me off. I thought that would put it at a later date, and a lower quality that the Beaver 50's I've heard so much talk about. Nice score Buler.

I was anticipating the blue Dobbs to go way higher than that.

Wow, I've been looking for Chase Hats information for a while now, as Crofut & Knapp produced hats for them. Have yet to see one of their hats surface.

That was an interesting hat. I was going to bid, but didn't understand the hat. It looks like a turn of the century soft hat, but has the liner and sweatband of something much later. Am I totally off base on this?
