Awwwwwwww-RIGHT!

After all this time, scouring eBay, Etsy, vintage clothing stores, and the like, I finally got a Stratoliner!

I really don't know how old this is. Saw it on eBay and thought it was pretty cool. Paid about $18 w/ shipping (hey, I got the pencils, too!). I figure I can keep hat pins, wind cords, and other sorts of hat tchotchkes in it.

I just received my latest Ebay purchase a Royal Stetson with wonderful bow work on it. A steal at $20 in a 6 7/8 as a gift to my wife. The downside is that it has (had) a hole in the brim. Not a moth hole and it was fully disclosed by the seller but some dimwhitt at the thrift store used one of those pricing machines that punch in the plastic price tag thingy that of course left a small round hole. I am well pleased that I fixed it. I have some swatches from Mike at NW Hats and I used my leather punch and punched out a very small round chunk of the swatch and inserted into the hole. I then wet it, steamed it and then tamped it. The mend is seamless. I did not have any suitable glue so it is not "permanent" and may fall out but if need be I will glue the next plug in place.
