I'm looking for a classical electric desk fan, not too big. Are there companies that produce those? A short googling showed mainly "retro" fans, that is, poddly coloured plastic design.

Edit before posting :D: I just saw this one here:

It's very nice actually, but I'm not sure about the stand yet, and they want between $180 and $255 for it. Wow, cloth covered cord.

This one isn't bad either:

Interesting how they added a modern secure grill, while keeping the old one.

This one's made in Malaysia - no idea where to get them, or for what price (I sent them a mail):

I saw the Mother of all..

..desk fans at an antique fair 2 weeks ago.

It was an apprentice piece made by some sort of Air mechanic.
An actual Miniature Sopwith Dolphin engine. It was gorgeous!
Someone had Rigged up as a working desk fan. Props about 12 inches.

Totally lethal. £300. I would have had it in a shot but my wife saw the gleam in my eye and dragged me away..:( (as they do!)

I have the one on the right in this picture. It is an "Arctic" and a great fan, but we have central air, so I never actually turn it on anymore. I love the look of it and it sits on my desk for inspiration. :)
