Hot music!

Lazy Weather, California Ramblers, 1927
"Too lazy for wishin', too hot to go fishin', but I don't mind
"The air may be musty, the roads may be dusty, that's just my kind"

'Tain't No Sin, Ben Selvin / Vincent Lopez, 1930
"When it's way too hot for comfort and you can't get ice cream cones
"'Tain't no sin to take off your skin and dance around in your bones"

Any Ice Today, Lady?, Waring's Pennsylvanians 1926
"Any ice today lady? It's nice today lady! How about a piece of ice today?
It's a shame ya don't order some Eskimo Water! Hurry up before it melts away"

Heat Wave, Mildred Bailey / Ethel Waters, 1933
"Gee, her anatomy made the mercury jump to ninety-three! Yes Suh!"

Summer Holiday, Dick McDonough, 1936
(Can't remember the lyric, but it has to do with "the mountains," meaning the ones Tin Pan Alley songwriters could go to.)

Rain, Don Bestor, 1934
"The cows in the meadow and the sheep in the corn, they know that somethin' is wrong
Old mother earth can never give birth when you're away so long"
(1934 saw the first big drought-cum-heatwave of the decade, and not the last.)

Honorable Mention:
Play Me a Frigid Air, Village Barn Orch., 1932
(This one only exists as an instrumental, but the stock arrangement includes lyrics:)
"Put ice down your saxes, freeze that trumpet blare
"It's too darn hot for a hot tune, play me a frigid air"

Ze zijn zeer goed! Ik ben blij met de gelegenheid gebruik te maken van mijn Nederlandse. (They are very good! I welcome the opportunity to use my Dutch.)

Even though the temps haven't been too awful so far in South Jersey, I've been playing a bunch of island stuff. Mighty Sparrow, Lord Kitchener, Afro Cuban All Stars, Cubanismo and some 2nd and 3rd Wave Ska....
