Expert advice about this Luxtone Panama, please!

I want to know how old it is....the price tag says $3.95! And what is that called with the ridge on the top?
Optimo?

It looks like the crown is at least 5" high. The ribbon is 7/8".

That panama has some spots on it.
It is a Cuenca hat - blocked in the Optimo form.
The weave is not fine but even.
However for the price of a fast-food menu not a bad one.
I think the brand is not that important in this case.
For this money you should not expect the pinnacle of this art form.

Hey Hungary Tom....
"I" didn't pay $3.95 for this hat.......the original owner paid $3.95 for it! That is stated on the original price tag sticker. Ya know, upon rechecking that sticker, it says $395. Hmmmmm....It must be real old. I was wondering if anyone had a scoop on the Luxtone name. When I Google "Luxtone", something pops up about about The Handy Cyclopedia with the following..

"The custom of wearing a hat during lunch is not an arbitrary one, ...... ONLY under the Luxtone label will you find the REAL "Beauty Secret. ..."

So as you can see, I haven't found much.
Yes, there are spots on this hat. Looks like a dirty ridge where the the optimo top is. Also maybe the hat was owned by a smoker as it has a yellower hue to it. But it is still is a hot lookin' hat!

Sure it's not $3.95?

A Cuenca shouldn't cost $395 now, and as to the color, Montecristis and some Cuencas are ivory-colored, not white, generally.

Give us a shot inside the crown, or count the concentric circles in the crown and we can see if it is a Cuenca or Montecristi.
