All four "defined," I'd guess, by the fact that without their hats they looked strange, almost unfinished!

I thought to add Paladin (Richard Boone) of Have *** Will Travel -- but his defining detail, I think, was his business card with the chess knight on it: "Wire Paladin, San Francisco."
