First Fur Felt

I finally pulled the trigger on my first fur felt hat, a Stetson 4X beaver, model as yet unknown (seller hasn't got back to me yet), in Silverbelly, crown 4" and brim 31/2", brand new in box at $50, apparently retail is $140. It's another western hat, I like my westerns but I went with the pinchfront instead of the cattleman crease as the CC doesn't really fly around these parts even though I probably prefer it. This has is intended to be my everyday hat come the cooler weather, whether it be dog walking, yardwork or just out and about.

I've been looking for a vintage Open Road for a while and lost out on one just last week so I spent my cash on this. Time to start saving again as I'm determined to get an open road and "fedoraize" it, so I can use it as my "high days and holidays" hat.

I'm also curious as to how stiff the felt is. I expect a full report! ;-)

Very very nice! With a shorter brim, say 2 3\4, this would give any OR a run for its money.
