Size S, got it off Grailed. What do you think of this jacket and the Horween Chromexel leather? My first horsehide.

This is CXL horse? I wouldn’t have guessed.

Not a fan of the more tubular, slimfit SCHOTTS, but that’s just me. Fits you perfectly, that’s for sure.

I’m with @Tom71 on this one. Not a big fan of this model, too long body for my taste. I much prefer the shorter length of the old 618 I had.
But this model seems to fit you well and how it was intended.

It fits you well and I love the worn in cxl horsehide. This is as good as it gets off the rack if this is the style you are looking for.

Personally, I have grown to like my sporty jackets shorter in the back with some front drop. E.g. your jacket is just perfect in the front for my taste but 2“ too long in the sides and in the back. This makes it look very tubular rather than v-shaped and because it „sits“ on your hip, you get these horizontal wrinkles in the back where the excess material gathers up.

I get what you're saying and this does make sense. Any models you can recommend to try that fit your description?

Personally, I am over the moon with the 613SH. It’s not super short and reasonably slim-fitting but with the classic V-shaped Silhouette. Leather is tops too. Just make sure you size according to your hem.

I am no expert as concerns the ‚real‘ classics (118, 613, 618) with their various iteration, but @Aloysius can sort you out (or you search under his name as he has compared the details a few times).

I feel like I would like to try another brand for a change. I already have 3 Schotts now, but never owned or even seen an Aero or any of the Japanese brands.

I see. That makes sense.

Of course, the RMC J-24 ticks a lot of boxes in terms of how a classic X-Zip should fit. Can´t say anything bad about them other than that they are pretty expensive.
Y2 has a very nice ‚double-rider‘ too, coming in all sorts of leather. Fit is very boxy and short.

My personal recommendation would be the Lewis Leather ‚Lightning‘. Easily as much ‚street-credibility as a Perfecto, and yet a totally different jacket at a still reasonable price.

"Size according to your hem" is one of the most important pieces of advice for cross-zips.

Just saw this. The 519 is actually the same pattern as our 613SH, but lengthened by a half-inch or so. On this variant, it looks much longer due to the lack of belt creating a lot of negative space.

This is why personally I dislike beltless Perfectos that use the standard design; I think it's the ticket pocket especially that looks like it's floating. The ones with a D-pocket like the aviator they used to have balance it better.
