I dropped off my Legendary USA Trojan Horse jacket at a local seamstress's to have the interior chest pocket repaired and to have some patches sewn on while it was there, shortly before Christmas. She said the pocket might be tricky, but the patches would be a piece of cake.

I picked it up 3 days ago, and she did a real ace job fixing the pocket. A lot of stitching and the like ended up being off/loose on the jacket that I hadn't noticed until a week or so after I got the jacket back from sending it back to have a manufacturing defect on the belt and lining repaired two days after taking it out of the box. Legendary customer service was rather frustratingly unsympathetic and nonresponsive, and I don't think I'll be doing business with them again.

But anyways, the seamstress butchered doing the patches! She sewed past the patches, over the patches, and off the patches! And one of them is already falling off! So, basically, unless I can find patches large enough to cover where she's stitched and put holes in the jacket where there was no patch in the first place, she's kinda ruined my jacket!!! ARGHHH!!!!!:rage:

Misery loves company, so I just figured I'd ask if anyone else has ever had a valuable jacket or other item of clothing damaged/ruined/etc under similar circumstances. Any horror stories out there?

Yes, had someone glue a patch on to them sew it on. When I took the patch off to replace with another patch what a mess. I asked the new tailor I have did he do this. He was amazed someone who does this type of work would do such a thing. In any event my current tailor is excellent and would not have found her had it not been for this incident. Guess there is a silver lining.

I'm very lucky, as This company is in my backyard. They are specialists in sewing leather and do spectacular work. They do all of my leather sewing/patch work. In December, they stitched on a leather nameplate while I waited, and charged me $6.

Anyone who is in the sport of showing horses, by the way, will want to take a look at their amazing stuff. In their showroom I saw a stunning light green lambskin skirt/jacket combination. If they made A2 jackets, they'd approach the best in the world for craftsmanship.

I wish the seamstress I brought my jacket to was worthy of the plauditz you gave to Berry Fit. Now I gotta figure out if I'm gonna try selling my jacket that I'm not-so-happy with anymore on ebay at a loss and find another jacket I like, or see if I can find some bigger patches that'll cover where she screwed up and also find someone who knows what they're doing to sew them on.
