Hat Pin placing

I have this Adam Premier beeter which came with a nice little racing car pin. Thing I find strange is the placing. It's at the back on the Right side of the bow. I would have probably not placed it there myself.

I can easily move it if I wished but was it just the previous owners preference? What's the normal placing for these pins?

You can see it at the rear of the bow!

In case you wish to know it is single left facing pin no fastener. Just over 1" or 3cm ish.

The usual placement for this type pin is on the center loop of the ribbon bow.

A pin which just advertises the brand name, however, looks best in the nearest wastebasket.
