Tried some Texas Select Club Grand Reserve Canadian Whisky with my Nutria Quality last night. I’ve been having some sinus issues so my taste is off and I can’t really give it an honest review. I always like Canadian and Rye Whisky, so thought I would give it a try.
Home yesterday evening before the sun set and sipping a Surley Supreme (https://surlybrewing.com/beer/grapefruit-supreme/ ). This tart ale (grapefruit) at 4.5% ABV was just the beer for the very warm humid evening. Cheers, Eric -
Sweet Friday evening to all! I am finally home after starting a practice at 7:00am. To celebrate the efforts I have poured yet another Surley Supreme. Arriving home, change of clothes (Covid required) and a quick shower (daily effort required) I opened a Surley Supreme (refreshment required). Yes it tastes the same as yesterday. I am feeling much refreshed kicking up my feet with my dog. I have planned absolutely nothing for this evening. My dog, the native animals/birds, lake antics, the pesky bugs and a quenching beer are my plans til the sun drops. Oh yes to point, I am sport'n a Cordova Cap in linen. Cool and comfy in tonights weather. I think it pairs well with my beer choice. I hope your evening is starting out to be as relaxed as my in. A sanctuary indulgence tonight. Cheers, Eric -
Headed out shortly on a BBQ rib run & some Bear Hair Belgium Blonde Ale curbside. Brewed by Logboat Brewing, Columbia, MO.
BBQ and Ale - that sounds like a perfect beginning to an afternoon. The citrus flavor and light spice finish should make an excellent pre-BBQ apertif. Shrimp tacos for brunch gave me an opportunity to sample Funked Up Salinity. This small brewer, Bent Brew, has some unique Gose beers. "This beer is a bright and yeasty. Fresh and fruity. Sour and tangy. Simply, an unfiltered, sour, salty and spicy wheat-based ale from Leipzig that dances across your tongue…and kicks a little butt." https://www.bentbrewstillery.com/sour-brews/ This is a fun beer. Cheers. Be safe, be strong and see you on the streets soon, Eric -
I see and understand your point clearly. Out this evening in the cooling temps sipping a Guinness. Cheers, Eric -
Cold press coffee has been delicious today. Morning and early afternoon it tastes refreshing. I have been drinking a thermos of coffee during my days and it is time for a "new" caffeine taste. Mushroom, pasta, soup for lunch with a Funked Up Salinity gose styled beer. Just a bit ago I was visiting, hailing across the water to my neighbors on their dock, sipping a Founders All Day IPA. I am feeling my optimism and energy buckets full for the upcoming week. Cheers to all, Eric -
Typical summer Sunday with the redneck AC WFO and the PBR cold. Canadian 7X CB providing shade outside of the umbrellas.
Back story: I bought a nice Stetson Stetsonian hat on ebay and this Tito's Vodka bandana was in the box! Cool little bonus. PS. I'm glad I proofread my own stuff... I type fast, real fast, sometimes too fast. I had left out the O in Tito's!!
Cold and tasty - that sounds perfect. I love your "grail" hat! I am all in on your "matchy matchy." I suspect you are at the point in life were you do or buy what you want because and not because of what someone might think. I respectfully do not put much stock in others fashion opinions. This said - looks solid to me. I am finally home and sipping an Indeed Lucy Session Sour. This local Minnesota ale is 4.2%ABV. The Session Sour is light in body with orange/passion fruit notes and a tart finish. I love the piney, ale taste, with just enough vesty sour taste. Not a "pucker sour," but a refreshing taste. After a looong day, it is truly tasty. Off to bed soon as my 5:15am start comes quickly. Cheers, Eric -
