Help identify this bad *** winter jacket

Hello.

I am now the owner of this a little over the top but awesome winter jacket. I have no idea what it is but it fits, is warm and looks awesome. Can anyone help identify this jacket? Hide, fur, style, etc.

The only history I have is it was purchased from the trunk of a native gentleman’s car in the mid 80s in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada.

I think you’re right about finding the maker, will be next to impossible but you never know. I’m more interested in what it’s made of. I have no idea what the hide or fur is. For curiosity sake I’d love to know.

Quick for pic for the hell of it. Room for a sweater when the temp drops. This jacket just makes me think of the north and looks very Inuit to me.

Shearling rancher style coat. Made by various makers. Very masculine, often worn by the Marlboro Man. Handy in Montana and North Dakota.

If yours has tags that should help identify it.
