How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

That's exactly what I will do. I think in their old website they had that exact ad photo. The wool rain collar is a must for me. Such cool feature.
Yeah. The feeling of cold leather against your neck on a rainy day is why I had a sheepskin collar added to my Schott 689. I've only seen this feature on Terry's Rough Wear Rough-in before. Most genious!

Some vintage Hercs have chest pockets and some don't. I've seen both. I've also seen at least two different cuff styles on that thing. But I'd like to think the most original one was the one in the big ads that cost $7.79. This one has the chest pocket. AND THE WOOL COLLAR! And there is a storm cuff inside the same cuff Aero uses.

There is also "later" ones. I judged by the increase in price to $7.85. It seems they cheaped out and no chest pocket. Either cheaped out by mis print the catalogue or the actual jacket chest pocket was eliminated. It would also seem that the cuff went to the later pointy one and most likely without storm cuff.

On my next Hercules Remix Mk2 I am asking for everything in the original $7.79 jacket. Everything - down to the wool collar. And I hope I get it.
I may use this image to support my argument for the pocket should they tell me it's a no go lol.

Yes, that is another suspect, also in the mid west, Chicago, Illinois.
Yes, Blatt may be a maker too. Local to HD. Always so many possibilities. The Blatt that looks like the HD jackets is awesome.

I have a photo of it somewhere. Per us usual, I can’t find the SOB in all of my cloud services. Too many unorganized pics.
I've just got a Blatt D pocket jacket which looks like HD cycle champ by chance.
Belt has been removed by previous owner, but I like this jacket shape

I'm confused on this chest pocket. The Original, Original has a chest pocket. Aero does not include this chest pocket?

View attachment 452975
The original in our Archives and what our repro is based off does not have a ****** pocket.
We can add a ****** pocket on request, to the poster above who says they were told they couldn't have there must have been some confusion as it is certainly possible.

THIS is the patented Collar of which you speak. We believe it is the original patent for RoughWear's adjustable collar and it was originally in their jackets. We think it may have been licensed to other manufacturers for a period of time and that it was a fairly short lived feature.

There are certainly a couple of small variations. I got lucky enough to snag an OG Hercules jacket. It seems to be a later model as it does not have a grommet reinforced zipper base or the throat button closure on the collar. It DOES have the chest pocket and the adjustable collar label is there but the collar itself is missing. Though mine has no maker label, we believe the ORIGINAL HERCULES was made by RoughWear. This conclusion is based on pretty definitive proof of the Adjustable Collar inventor's identity.

1934 - I am amazed at the intel here. Thanks for sharing!
I'd assume this would infringe on the original design patent if any one try to do a true repro. I will ask my tailor if he can add one on aftermarket so it's more fan art than commercial rule breaking.

Both jackets came in
Highwayman is good, sleeve back length meets my request. But HB DELUXE makes me unhappy, besides the sleeve length is too short (requested 25.25) and hem is too big at 22"!! The major defect is the big scar at sleeve, I will be waiting for their response. Both jackets weigh around 6.5 lbs, even though I have requested heaviest hide possible.

Cinch in the belts on the HB deluxe and you are good to go! FWIW I think that sleeve length actually looks better, although I understand it's not what you wanted/ordered. Is that scratch on the sleeve through the topcoat? Like it was made by a box cutter?

I had HB 50S before, never that big. The sleeve will even shorter after some wear which will be bad looking in my book. The scar looks deeper in person, and I am concern it will eventually crack.

The front on the HB looks too short… but the back is fine? I hope the one I have in the making won’t fit like that. Yeah I wouldn’t be too happy either. Sleeves look fine to me but then I don’t like when they reach the knuckles.

Highwayman all good although I see a scratch/cut/whatever on the sleeve of that one too… man 2 out of 2 with marks is serious bad luck!

The black HWYMan looks good. The sleeves will lose a bit of length (on the inside elbow) because they're curved so you did good there.
The brown HB deluxe, if it were mine, I would ask for a remake. 22" Hem is either 50's size 42 or 30's 44. On a shorter jacket it will just look boxed out. Plus the sleeve is in the danger zone now it's only gonna get aesthetically shorter with wear. This is also my nitpicks with some of my old Aero's sleeves. For all my current orders I added sleeve length and they've worked out like your HWYMan.
Mid 6lbs isn't light weight. But I was also expecting 8lb jackets given that they are steer. So they've thinned down to 3oz for the steer now? It was 4oz plus before. Again could be a Horween thing and not so much an Aero thing. Honestly I am surprised Aero is still using Horween given the current exchange rates. They must be losing money on the Horween jackets or not making much.
The nick on the brown one would also bug me. But that's a Horween thing - inconsistent in the past couple years.

This just came in a few minutes ago. Inspired by our brilliant colleague's @Monitor recent post, I did a quick search on Dickie's denim jackets. Sure enough I found near NOS Branders Dickie's trucker in my size (38) for a whopping sum of $18.99. Heavy denim, feels about 15-oz, probably American. 1980s. I really don't need an IH trucker if I can have this. I am over the moon. Gonna cross-post this in the denim jackets thread. There are unreal things at unreal prices to be found if you follow the wise. Btw, a quick search on Ford mechanics jackets inspired by @Davisleathernyc post unearthed a couple mint jackets too, but I have not had found the cojones to order one yet, lol. Probably not age-appropriate, I would proudly wear one when I was 17, lol. Now I would just be looking like a real old Ford mechanic that just came off the job...:). Enough rambling, back to Dickie's. Hell yeah.

Fit is very subjective but I think both look very big and boxy for your frame.

The damage for a new item isn't acceptable.
