The lack of inventory in my size is pushing me to consider jackets I normally wouldn’t. I’ve held fast so far. This looks cool.

I love the design but not the faux distressed hide. Fortunately I know a guy that can fix that.

Yeah this is undoubtedly a Polo creation. Some cool features. Sleeves are laughably trim. It will be very easy to dye. Won’t even need the acetone. Run over this with rubbing alcohol and I’ll be good to go. I think it’ll be much cooler looking in cordo.

I'm strongly considering a Cafe Racer in brown kelpie with nickel hardware in a 'roomier' size 42 later in the year. I managed to unload a Stockman and pass on another jacket and am trying to get down to fewer jackets by hook or by crook.

You’re probably right. Although I don’t mind the fit, other than the sleeves. I coated it in Obernaufs oil last night, just to see how much darker it would get. Turned out pretty decent. I’ll wait for that to fully dry before I dye or seal. But yeah the fit is very reminiscent of my Vanson Gambler, which I sold on account of the same linguine sleeve.

Wrapping Uo my Polo x zip adventure. This thing took nearly an entire bottle of cordo. I diluted 3:1 rubbing alcohol to dye on the first coat and dropped the ratio 1:1 for two subsequent coats. Satin finish resolene applied. I also reshaped the lapels which were falling open like butterfly pork chops. Too bad the light ***** here this weekend. Color is sublime, maybe the best job I’ve done yet in achieving a shade and finish very close to a true vintage piece. For a guy who rarely reaches (or wants to reach) for a cross zip I think this will hold me over, despite the very much “fashion fit”.

Ralph and co. really does have a great design team.

After I dyed it I simply applied clips to the lapels while it dried.
