Hey! i got this old peacoat, feels like the wool on the 40's Naval coats, but has the griffins on the collar and on metal buttons. There are sadly no tags, so its probably a long shot.
Any help is appreciated, cheers

It isn't US Navy, for several reasons, and I doubt a civilian version because of the piping on the collar.

Are the Griffins on the collar embroidered, or are those buttons? What is on the six buttons on the front? Are those plastic or metal?

After a fairly extensive search for the Griffin on the flags of other countries, I couldn't find this exact creature. Frustrating.

Hint: Look inside all of the pockets for a tag.

Maybe someone in our international community will recognize the Griffin and let us know.

i know its not US, there is no tags as stated, Buttons are metal as stated. The collar is embroidered. Im thinking its an early British transport/staff coat the griffin is very similar to the Gaunt griffins when looking at the buttons
