This guy just won't go away. Now the French have given him an award.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,120671,00.html

He says he makes "documentries".

doc?Ǭ?u?Ǭ?men?Ǭ?ta?Ǭ?ry adj. 1. Consisting of, concerning, or based on documents. 2. Presenting facts objectively without editorializing or inserting fictional matter, as in a book or film. --doc?Ǭ?u?Ǭ?men?Ǭ?ta?Ǭ?ry n., pl. doc?Ǭ?u?Ǭ?men?Ǭ?ta?Ǭ?ries. A work, such as a film or television program, presenting political, social, or historical subject matter in a factual and informative manner and often consisting of actual news films or interviews accompanied by narration.

This guy makes propaganda and tries to pawn it off as an objective documentry. He has a major agenda to try and destroy anything or anyone conservative. He comes no where near objective.

That is why the European socialists love him. Most liberal leaders won't endorse his work or be associated with him....because they know it decieves people with half-truths and some out and out lies. They just smile as he persuades the un-informed and weakminded.

This is not a victory for freespeach. It is an embarrassment.

He has a right to say what he wants. Every freedom has it's price. The price of freedom of speach is idiots and jerks get so say what they will. It is worth it....but it stinks.

Just back in Cannes after his daughter's college graduation in the United States, Moore dedicated the award to "my daughter and to all the children in America and Iraq and throughout the world who suffered through our actions.

Can you imagine if this guy lived 60 years ago and said that about Nazi Germany? If the French like him, they can keep him. I think the guy is crossing the line from being a rebel to being a traitor.

MK... as I wrote on The Lost Pages...

Half Truth, vauge inuendo, and blustering from a fat self-loathing heathen.

Moore winning any award isn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t a ?¢‚Ǩ?ìgreat day?¢‚Ǩ? for Free Speech. It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s a blow towards it and it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s another win for Propaganda. Moore has been caught more then once stretching the truth to make his point.

I would take him seriously if he wasn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t so busy tearing down anyone who tells the other side of the story. Villifying isn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t a way of debating, it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s a way driving the wedge between the two sides further apart. He perpetuates hate for hate?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s sake and because it earns him a few extra pieces of silver.

Since Moore hates his country so much, he should move to France.

Moore confounds anti-corporate conventional wisdom

I'm not going to post the whole thing... it's for you to read. But if this is your guy... then it says a lot about you and what you "Believe".

I dont know, I think censorship would just be wrong. Just because you disagree with what someone says doesnt mean they shouldn't be allowed to say it.

If what they are saying really is bad or stupid, then people should be able to see it themselves or it can be debated through rational argument.

Its only when we get into the realms of hate speach I think we should be thinking about censorship. I dont think this should be considered a price for freedom at all, but a privilage that every citizen has.

I agree that he shouldn't be censored....unless in the time of war and it would get people killed (ala Jane Fonda).....and even then just for a short time.

As for "hate speach".....I think that is a dangerous term. Who is going to decide what falls under that catagory? And why don't we let people"see it themselves or it can be debated through rational argument."?

Hate Speech is a very strict term and goes beyond what would just upset or anger people - even racism isnt necessary hate speech. John Stewart Mill defines it as speech that directly incites violence

I agree its not somethign that is always easy to gauge - in some instances racism for example could incite violence and in others it wouldnt. But at least it emphasises the fact that censorship should only be introduced in extreme situations whereby allowing it to be heard would result in violence (as you could cosntrue your example above (unless in the time of war and it would get people killed).

You can?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t have a serious documentary (or be taken seriously) about September 11th 2001 with out talking about the failings of the Clinton administration. Where?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Moore?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s documentary on the first WTC bombings in 1993? The Al Qaeda Bombings of American Embassies in Africa? Al-Qaeda bombing of the USS Cole? The possible link funding of the OK City bombings and Al-Qaeda through the operative Ramsey Yuseph?

You also have to talk about George Bush Senior, Ronald Reagan?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ and Jimmy Carter?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s inaction that emboldened Islamic Fundamentalists by doing nothing during the hostage taking in Iran in 1978?

George Bush is in office in less then 8 months, but as President for that length of time he?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s solely responsible for the worst Attack in America?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s history? Dick Morris wrote an article saying that when Clinton was pressured into doing something about Ohsma?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ Bill?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s reaction was that wasn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t a real problem yet: It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Al?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s. Leave that to Gore to fix once he was in office.

What about a documentary on Al Gore, Occidental Oil?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ and Middle East terrorists?

The problem with the French is that they forget history. The World saved their asses from German aggression in Two world wars, the world had to fix their failed colonialism in Indo-China (Viet-Nam)?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ and they also forget the back-room deals with Saddam (AGAINST THE UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTIONS THE FRENCH HIDE BEHIND) for exchanging money for illegal oil.

How was Saddam able to build such expensive Palaces during the United Nation?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s embargo of Iraqi oil? I guess Moore is going to have to do a documentary on the French Parliament.

Um...I could be wrong about this (and probably am), but I have a friend who's a big MM fan, and I recall him saying that MM has a whole book about Clinton and how horrible of a president he was. Or at least, there's a whole section devoted to just such a topic. I don't know much about MM...but I thought I recalled my friend reading me some passages out of one of his books, chronicling some of the lesser-known horrors of the Clinton administration. At least, I'm pretty such it was a MM book. Maybe 'Stupid White Men'?

That would be interesting. Perhaps he just rebels against all authority in general.

Out of curiousity.......is your friend into other conspiracy theories.....like the JFK assassination, Skull & Bones or UFOs?

He's pretty practical...I'm sure he would laugh at talk of UFOs.

...though I wouldn't be too surprised to hear him talk about JFK.

I don't know much about MM, but I always generally thought he was the "rebel against authority"-type. My mom's very conservative, and she hates him, so I guess that should've told me something.

actually, I'm the resident conspiracy theorist in these parts. I don't think I believe them all...but i do enjoy hearing them.

[bI posted this and I'm waiting for an ADULT response.[/b]

Again, You can NOT talk about the rise of Terrorism with out discussing the failings of the past administrations. Al-Qaeda didn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t just spring to life during Bush?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s inauguration... If Moore doesn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t mention the failings of the Clinton Administration in F911... then it?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s an incomplete documentary.

If Moore is going to talk about how Bush ?¢‚Ǩ?ìLied?¢‚Ǩ? about Al-Qaeda?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s links to Iraq which led us to war?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ then he ignores Ramsey Yoseph who?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s been linked to both Al-Qaeda, the first WTC bombing in NYC in 1993, OKC bombing in 1995, receiving financial aid from Saddam?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s second in command. Does Moore also ignore Abu Musab al-Zarqawi openly recruiting in Iraq?

Micheal Moore is a slovenly moron, in my opinion, who has been given a voice by the liberal dominated media and has been aided and abetted by Canada in many ways.

I watched Bowling for columbine, and while I agree with his ultimate point (The media is fear-mongering) I disagree with him spending most of the film in a campaign against firearms. he should have a warrant out for his arrest in Canada after the COMPLETLEY illegal purchase of ammunition.

though, sometimes he is amusing--he has a television show, The Awful Truth, in which he gets up to some ***hole, but amusing, things. For example, he entered a Ficus plant in an election becuase the only other candidate had been running unopposed for years and he felt the people needed a choice. Well they did, and they chose Ficus (according to moore--take that with a grain of salt). Another time, he offered an African American Wallet Exchange (shortly after the black man was shot 40 something times by NYC police after reaching for his wallet and they thought it was a gun). He traded black people a blaze orange wallet in exchange for their "menacing dark-colored" wallets :D Rather entertaining, if not a spit in the face of authorities.

Regards,
Craig

What? Ego is God's gift to little men?

Well, I am only 5'6"..so I'm, ...what ? Little?

Or does that catagory include intelligence, work ethic, or morals?

Yes, I have known small men with "short man's complex". Pity. I love my size. Fit into racy airplanes better. Import cars too.

Most clothes fit "off the rack" , but I admit to having the trousers shortened!

Ego? Hummmmmm. Leggo of my Eggo..er Ego? HAWHAHHHAHAH

Fat obnoxious guys

Michael Moore seems to me to be Nature's way of creating balance. You've got the fat obnoxious guy on the right (Rush Limbaugh) and now you've got the fat obnoxious guy on the left (Michael Moore). Apply a little critical thinking to the arguments, rantings and blandishments of either one and they collapse.

Critical thinking is the perfect solvent for propaganda. (And a lot of other hogwash--like advertising and salesmanship--too.)

I'm wondering how many of you have actually seen "Fahrenheit 9/11"? How many of you have seen ANY of his movies? I would venture to guess that there's a lot of comment here on something that many haven't seen. I noticed one post from someone who had seen "Bowling for Columbine". Anyone else?
