Another new one. Staalmeester Rembrandt. Size 57 with an overwelt brim at 5cm and crown at 10,5cm at the centerdent. Staalmeester was made by Nederlandse Hoedenfabriek (Nehoefa) in Bussum. Their early hats are of outstanding quality. Their later ones not so much. This is a later hat, but not too bad actually, which I did not expect. It's growing on me. I might keep it, even if it is a bit large for me.

Another new hat added to the collection. The was on the bay several times but didn't sell, probably because it didn't look its best. Like this.
Finally for the price I thought why not? A somewhat scruffy but very nice vintage panama shows up.
Huber's Men's shop from Bellefontaine. That's all I can tell you about it really. No labels or anything in the hat. Feels like a size 7. Have to confess I mistreated this hat right off the bat: trying to iron a patch to a weak spot in the straw I came too close to the sweat. It didn't like that and shriveled up on me (damn!). Still best $6 I spent in a long long time.

I had to look up fimbulvetr.Two recent additions for this thread. Let's start with this one: Echter Borsalino Export Qualität Debrosan in nero. Size 59. Bound brim at 6,5 cm and crown 10,5cm at the pinch. Lovely pliable felt with a nice soft hand. Borsalino hatmaking at its best with a nice mid size ribbon treatment.
Had this for about a week now and today it was time to take some pictures of it between the first signs of what may turn into fimbulvetr. Some droplets can be seen on the hat; had to hurry!

Quite rare indeed, Max. Most British hats have very modest brims. Out of practical consideration mainly: their weather wouldn't be kind to large brims (their hats aren't very stiff - their upper lips are rumored to be though).Lock & Co. I had never seen one with such a wide brim

Last night the chronometer on eBay said I had 30 seconds left to bid on a hat, but when I tried to place my bid, time had run out already.
The same thing happened to me with this railbird, but fortunately, the buyer listed it for sale on FB, so I was able to buy it.

Just arrived 1989 Kevin O'Farrell 3x6 Rancher. BRE with 3-cord ribbon. This would have been from the first Durango shop before he sold out in 1990. Needs some brim tweaking but has a nice soft hand.
