Alan, Great character on all points. I like the smooth transition of color in the brim. Is it possible to see the exact point/weave where the two colors co mingle? I like this hat.

Hi Dennis - thank you! If you visit the link in the Hawes Von Gal thread you will see additional photos, including a detail of the attachment point for the outer green straw.

My Willis & Geiger came in today! I instantly replaced the musty zebra pelt band with something I had more in mind for this one...

Received a matching pair of Bollman fur bowlers today, one in black, one in grey.

They both had a pretty significant dent in the top. It looked intentional, almost like someone was trying to put a fedora style crease in the top. I put some steam to them and have gotten it mostly corrected.

All in all, I only gave 50 bucks for the pair, so I think I came out well ahead on this one

This are the writing on the sweatband that is difficult to decipher because faded
The proportions are as follows: the brim is 6 cm. overwelt, the ribbon is 5 cm. and the open crown is 13.5 cm. cresed as telescope

Felt is often soft and quite rigid, perhaps because it has long been in need of a little steam, however the texture and the color are very similar to French felts that undoubtedly are softer

The hat is in good condition, it has no lining but just a tip as you can see

All indications are contained in the paper label which also shows the quality called "Mohair".
The finishes are very precise.

Stefan kindly added this wonderful 1965 Pinazza, soft velvet, "petting" hat to three hats I just had to have. I was going to add photos of me wearing it, but damn it, my youngest daughter looks even better in it.
Proud that both my daughters have a natural affinity to hat wearing [emoji4]
