Snagged this guy of Etsy this morning. More or less exactly what I've been looking for in a brown lid, I think it will clean up nice and the price was right.

What do we think on vintage? 1950s?

My Dobbs arrived Today, this is the Ebay Photo. cost incl.Shipping 7,50 EUR

It`s a Dobbs Twenty Five Golden Coach, I had not known it .Great suprise!!) under License produced in Germany
the hat is still a bit damp from the cleaning.

It looks late 1960s maybe 1970s. Not sure who had the Dobbs license for Germany but I have seen them pop up on occasion.

Alan, I've had good luck in finding great hats in the Classifieds. To be honest, I'd much rather do that than screw around with eBay.

Glad it made it home safe and fast! I'm like you, I prefer the classifieds.

rlk, I don't know how you do it, or where you get all these hats (with the numbers and variants you show, I suspect you use ALL the potential sources, from eBay to etsy to the classifieds here to various psychic advisers ), but I know this. I've seen others mention having a hat "room". I'm thinking, with the volume of hats you post, you must have more like a hat "wing", or at least a hat "barn". Kudos on the depth of your collection and knowledge, it's a pleasure to see all these that you post (lots of long furry ones lately, ever considered a group shot of the long haired hats in the collection?).

Robert, Those both are fantastic! I have never seen Hückel with that type of liner and sweatband (also model). Does it have a paper label?

This is an old German or Austrian Velour. I think it might be pre WWI but no manufacturer mark. The crown was over 6 inches open. I am not sure if it had a liner. The Velour is very beautiful with some other colors mixed in with the black.

Color is Amarena-Black Cherry. Regrettably rather small, tagged size 4 but measuring a generous 55.5 cm.
