Fantastic! :eusa_clap
That Borso is sweet Aureliano. Nice color and I'm seriously starting to love bound edges.
Vintage fair in London on Sunday. I also picked up an amazing 1930s tweed jacket. I think i'm going to leave the price tags on these ones … amazingly cheap for 1940s caps. Both caps were owned by the same man, one J. Colson. His name's written inside both of them. Both caps have similr construction - a 1-panel top with darts stitched in the rear to give shape. Both fit nicely …
This one is almost certainly unworn, and with the CC41 stamp on the crown liner, this is a STEAL. Maybe the chap bought it then went off to WWII and came back with a bigger head? The overcheck looks more teal than in real life. It's actually a dark green. The blue colour of the main body of the fabric is accurate.
And this is a cap I've been on the hunt for for many, many years. Pretty much as long as I've been into vintage clothing.
