Vintage fair in London on Sunday. I also picked up an amazing 1930s tweed jacket. I think i'm going to leave the price tags on these ones … amazingly cheap for 1940s caps. Both caps were owned by the same man, one J. Colson. His name's written inside both of them. Both caps have similr construction - a 1-panel top with darts stitched in the rear to give shape. Both fit nicely and are made by McGregor …

This one is almost certainly unworn, and with the CC41 stamp on the crown liner, this is a STEAL. Maybe the chap bought it then went off to WWII and came back with a bigger head? The overcheck looks more teal than in real life. It's actually a dark green. The blue colour of the main body of the fabric is accurate.

And this is a cap I've been on the hunt for for many, many years. Pretty much as long as I've been into vintage clothing.

Man, jwalls! I'd wear that before I'd ever wear a black one. Especially if you'd make a low crown version. I suspect I wouldn't be able to afford you, however. Nice work!

1950's stetson royal deLuxe open road silverbelly i got for 25 dollars. I do need to replace the sweatband and plan on changing it to a teardrop possibly. It has an interesting story of where it came from. Description of hat shop from seller.

"Morris Men's Shop was the western wear shop in the Stockyard Inn near the Chicago cattle stockyards. For decades THIS was the store that cowboys and cattlemen bought their hats, boots, and clothes from when they came to Chicago to spruce up and buy and sell their cattle. It has some pretty famous end-of-the-trail cowboy history. Having this hat is like having a slice of old west history. "

The stingy brimmed Resistol homburg arrived today. O Resistol, why have I not found thee before? It's only a 3X and the finish is really exceptional. It has been kept in immaculate condition, and needed only a quick brush for a little dust removal. I did end up dipping the front a bit. I suspect this will become a fast favorite. Move over, Buscemi!

Today's finds, with photos taken as soon as I got home.
The brim on this milan is very stingy for me, but it's really nicely made and my size, so I couldn't pass it up.

This one is also for me. The pics are really blown out, but the hat is pretty nice. Cav edge, annoying plastic liner protector that I'll probably putll out, and a great, heavy felt.
