Just arrived....an ebay auction that I won with an opening bid.

The size tag says 7 1/8, but the fit is 7 3/8 and doesn't appear to be stretched, so perhaps a factory mis-labeling. Nice velour, sweat is pliable and I love the shade of green. Yes, hatsRme, a green hat! Dang I'm liking this style...

Got this black (yes another) Resistol Stagecoach
I thought it was a very dark blue but it's black but I got it mainly because of the ribbon and to know the model name.
The good surprise? It's a 4 1/2" brim. The not so good part? it's a 7 1/8 but I can still wear it.

While shopping at the Stetson outlet last weekend, I committed to making rational decisions, which meant I left with only two hats (the Stetson Racine & the deeply discounted Knox in carbon gray). But there was a soft as silk premiere felt Royal Deluxe in caribou that I left sitting on the shelf. I have so many Silverbelly and brown hats and too few grays. But I convinced myself to buy only the one.

Then my passion got the best of me.

After leaving Texas, I found my fingers dialing the phone and ordering that Royal Deluxe. It arrived today. It's that "classic" gray fedora I've not yet owned. The crown is a bit tapered (only 5 1/4" at open crown) and the brim is at my narrowest tollerance (2 3/8"). But it's a much lighter, softer, and pliable felt compared to my three other premiere felts. The felt has a great feel. I'm really impressed. The sweats on these premiere felts are very nice. So here's my irrational purchase... the Stetson Metropolis.

A couple estate sale snags from this morning.
Found a really nice Stetson in like new condition.... I've never seen this tip logo before and don't know anything about it.

I found the hat in the black box then found the sweet brown Knox box as well

I haven't seen it, but it's similar to other mid-late '50s Stetson tips I've seen. There are others here who know more than I do about these things, though.
