Jack, Super! I believe P. & C. Habig Wien stop production in the late 1980s. What is interesting is the Auftrags - Datum is missing the year "31. 10. .?". Could "88" in Auftrags - Nr. be the year?

Here is one with a year

Your Soft Felt is probably from the 1980s. If you have time please post it in the German - Austrian thread.
Thanks! Will do! Interesting! Yeah! Looking at the tag when purchased, my sentiments of the age at least, were similar to yours. Defining this piece as 'stately' does it no justice! If the 80s were their last production year, the company went out with a bang on this one!

Borsa Thirty. I’m guessing mid 50s?
Great hat! Haven’t done anything to it, left as bought from eBay…on the cheap. Has a few moth nibbles on the top brim, and one or two on the crown, but don’t think I can fill them with success on suede finish, so I’ll just enjoy it as is. A really nice find, Randall. Moth nibbles are just a part of the patina of that vintage beauty.

Is there a label under the sweat?

Thanks! It's sad that they went out of business.

The first hat out of the box from the Hat Guys inventory liquidation. It’s my first Stefeno. This is the Black Label 100% pure beaver felt hat with a 5 ⅝” open crown and a 2 ⅝” raw edge brim. The felt is dime thin, dense, very smooth, and easily shaped. The best part is it’s a size 62cm or 7 ¾ US and it fits great.

Not gonna go wrong with a dime thin felt that fits well. I have a Stefano straw with a simple elastic sweat that I really enjoy. Looks good on you my friend.
