My Akubra homburg (inside)
What l find odd is that they use a cheap PVC plastic,so it doesn't give me confidence in what that white lining may be.
Does any know what materials they use in this hat and why they use clear plastic in the center?
(green kitchen sponge under the headband at the moment)
My Bates homburg
Does anyone know what material the lining is?
The Bates is really comfortable and soft, like it was made for me. The Akubra is o.k in comfort, but nothing like the bates, and it is much harder.
The bowler l tried on didn't fit the shape of my head at all.

I’ve posted this before, but it is a bit cleaner now. Charter House for Juster Brothers of Minneapolis. Based on what appears to be a Hat Corporation of America factory label and a $5.00 price I’m guessing early 1940s. Nice crown height. I found an ad for the Charter House store brand going back to 1930.

Late posting this one but here is a new favorite, courtesy of @Rmccamey. I love the reddish brown hue of this Milano Homburg. This brim has that slight downward swoop in front and back to give it a little western flare.
