there is an "F33" in two different places on tags. For those that might know, could that indicate a year?
Just in case, if anyone can ID the appropriate size tag for this one AND happen to have one laying around Im all ears! Id love to get the right size tag added back in

Big score day! This one here is going to require a few more pictures than normal, but wow! My new-to me bowler got stuck in the mail over the holiday but after seeing it I dont care I had to wait a few more days... its was a thrill to see it come out of the box. An "Excellant Quality" Stetson bowler in fantastic shape. This lid is RIGID! The Taupe colored sweatband is perfectly supple and no damage ( zero cracking... just a bit of soiling that should clean up) Absolutely beautiful liner. Matching colored rondell logo on liner AND the sweatband ( never had seen a colored sweatband logo like this before). Except for the missing size tag, it appears to have all the tags intact including the $8 store price tag. AND IT FITS!!! Even came with a shaved peacock feather ( Im sure Ill find something to stick it in, but it wont be going back in this one.. lol). For $30 Ill say this was a score for sure! Just need to brush a bit and trim one little thread hanging out from under the ribbon. View attachment 715927

Great find Rick! I’ve only seen one other like it with the colored sweatband logo.

That “cities” rondel logo was ~ 1935 - 1942.

Great find!

It seems possible that “F33” could mean fall of 1933 but I’m certainly no expert.

I have a bowler with similar markings and @Just Daniel thought it was an early 30s hat:

Does your hat have a lot # inside the sweatband?

Bob H had indicated that the "Cities Rondel" logo was roughly 1935-1942. My biggest curiosity is the matching colored logo on the sweatband... Ive never seen one like that with the black, red and gold together.. Its lovely

I see a paper tag AND a inside sweatband stamp that says E116799 ...there is another stamp inside the sweat that looks like either 348301 or 343301. Theres also a paper tag thats stamped 563. A couple of the papertags are partially obscured by the edge of the liner, and that is tightly affixed to the inside of the crown ( cant lift edges and peek under the liner. Heres a few pics if your eyes are better than mine.... reading glasses didnt help me too much lol)

Just for giggles, heres pics of both this "Excellent Quality" new hat as well as my other "Select Quality" hat... Love them both. The new "Excellent quality" hat definitely has a slightly smoother and heavier felt than the "Select Quality" (Select is unlined with the logo tag directly on felt... Excellent is obviously nicely lined. Surface finish on both is close to the same ( smooth and black) lol but the excellent has a bit nicer feel to it

Everyone needs TWO bowlers dont they? I missed out on an auction for a nice brown Stetson bowler a few weeks back or Id have three lol. Just a little observation... with the brim curl, these hats are absolutely the easiest hats ive ever had to hang onto when you take them off

A Knox Americana arrived yesterday, it is my first lord's hat. It has even more brim curl than I thought it would. It is in nice shape a few little chews here and there but nothing to worry to much about. This one has a bit different liner than many of the others I have seen on here. Now I just have to figure out what you wear a lord's hat with.
