A Knox Americana arrived yesterday, it is my first lord's hat. It has even more brim curl than I thought it would. It is in nice shape a few little chews here and there but nothing to worry to much about. This one has a bit different liner than many of the others I have seen on here. Now I just have to figure out what you wear a lord's hat with.

Great find Simeon. Congrats!

Please post it in the Lord's Hat thread, too.

S. J. Fraenkel Wien, "600", 58 cm possibly late 1950s. This is my second S. J. Fraenkel Wien Homburg Hat find in my size range and made for Otto Matt Hutmachermeister Bregenz. The black Felt is of a medium weight and has a soft hand. Great form with medium width Band and a slightly offset Bow. The overall condition is excellent,

Picked up this basically unworn 'Beaver 20' by Greeley Hat Works. This and the Stetson 'Three Way' box were $109 + tax at a couple of antique stores I visited in Colorado. The hat was made for Steven Wells.

Here it is, bashed. It's a very stiff felt, but it turned out nice - no steam necessary, it fits perfectly and I think it's going with me into the Puyallup when it opens for pink salmon on August 15

This has been posted before by Marcel @Pellie in one thread or another. It is not his size, so he kindly sent it to me.
Hückel Mercur homburg in black. Size 56 with the bound brim at 6cm and the crown at a generous 11,5cm at the center dent (though it doesn't look it). I have plenty of black homburgs but none of them were by Hückel, so a nice addition.

If my memory serves Tress & Co were bought by Christy's in 1953 which makes this homburg at least as old as me!
Mid grey felt (Armour), charcoal ribbon and drab olive brim binding. The onion skin obscures the lovely liner and the frayed bow makes me think 30's. Who knows.
It came with the ghosting of a nasty pinch and some minor moth mastications.

Me I love an Eden, a diplomatique, a lobbia but Mrs Layne doesn't, she says they make me look like Albert Steptoe so rather than bore you with a headshot of me here's the great man himself who always wore a homburg.

That is a very nice find.

Thanks for the Steptoe and Son photo; a true comedy classic.

Perhaps you should try and convince Mrs. Layne that you look more like Anthony Eden than Harold's dad :)

Are there any labels under the sweatband of your Tress & Co?

No, Mrs Layne is never wrong when she's right and I did live in Shepherd's Bush once!
I got it for tuppence on the bay, the only bidder! because I think it was advertised as 'pure wool felt' =)
Here's the label.

My second Wolfbrae arrived today. Once again, we provided the ribbon material (kimono silk) to make it a one of a kind hat. The head shots get closest to the colour. Initially Robert felt the colour was a little bland, and suggested the strip of plain green fabric in the middle. Etsuko suggested the accent on the bow keep using another piece of kimono fabric we’d sent. Great calls, both of them. Thrilled with the hat.
