I was in Houston last week and stopped at the west I-10 Goodwill Slect store. I was fortunate to find a Evan Picone double breasted navy blazer, 44L which fits like it was made for me, less than $20 in perfect condition.
I also found this suit. It is blue sharkskin, fully lined with high waisted, narrow belt loops, trousers. If I am reading the union and manufacturers labels in the inner pocket correctly it was manufactured in 1956 by Louis Roth for Sakowitz of Houston. It has a style of sleeve cuff I have never seen before. The suit is a 46L but I am a 44L and it seems to fit fairly well, I need to have the trouser waist taken in but the length is very good, the jacket is loose in the waist so it needs to be adjusted, the sleeve cuff is my main concern due to the style. I think it needs to be shortened but am concerned about ruining the styling.

Any info which can be provided on this style of suit and type of accessories (ties, shirts, etc.) which are appropriate with it as well as tailoring it would be appreciated.

I'm quite sure the sleeve cuffs can be shortened just like any cuff on a trouser leg.

You should look around for a tie more in proportion with the lapels. A wide tie with narrow lapels doesn't look quite right.

Love the sharkskin!

Very nice.
I have two sharkskin suits, one blue the other brown.
The cut is similar to yours with the exception of the cuff treatment.
Perhaps a local tailor can shorten the sleeve length and preserve the cuffs.
