No proper spectators, I'm afraid. But I do have these:

Hi folks,

Here I am again with yet another shoe question. What is your opinion on theses shoes selected & do you have any other brands that you like?

Nordstrom Saddle Oxford: http://store.nordstrom.com/product/...~2384142&PrevStyleID=none&NextStyleID=2801507

Muffy's Modern Traditional: http://www.muffys.com/modern_traditional.html

I know most of you have your favorites, and I would love to hear your thoughts and show off your shoes as well. I'm trying to put together an outfit similar to wht Kevin Klein is wearing below.

Hopefully some of you have had some experience with some of the shoes I've selected and can offer up the level of comfort of the ones you have and which are your favorites. I thank you for your input.

Cheers!

I went through this process a few years back- got my wife a pair of leather soled, red/whites from Muffys to go with her '44 Lee jeans. Nice, helpful woman- Muffy.

I have a pair in the same colourway as the Nordstroms ones but those look like buck. Mine are smooth, tanned leather, Cole Haan, new/unused and cheap off eBay around the same time as I got my Wife's pair.
Saddle shoes are very comfy, especially the rubber soled ones.

This is the model I have- discontinued now...

These ones, below are Polo- nice and probably a nice price too..
But they look nice-

Brown and white has gotta be the koolest colourway.

I have those Polo saddle shoes. Bought 'em new for $10 at a flea market 3 Summers ago. They are splendidly comfortable.

After being required to wear them from k-8, I just can't bring myself to own another pair - but I like the way they look.
I sure hope gent's saddle shoes are a bit more comfortable.

I knew that someday there would be something I could agree on with Biltmore Bob. I just can't wear shoes like that. They remind me of my band shoes from high school. I think it may be the similar age bracket Bob and I are in or something.

I like the white suit and the spectators on the guy with the cigar. Those are nice shoes. The guy third fromt he left int he background has some nice two tones as well. Looks like they are toe cap tan and browns. Those are tough to find in larger sizes.
Ok, ok. I like the Nordstrom offerings. ;) The two tone brown will not get dirty as fast and the white and brown just looks like too much contrast in saddle shoes. Maybe it is just me. The dressabouts look like 1970s Superfly shoes. :p
I wonder what kind of cigar the guy in the white suit is smoking. :cool2:

Regards to all,

J

JP: The man in the white pinstripe suit is portraying L.B. Mayer (of the Metro Goldwyn Mayer fame). Since the time period is the 1930's I'll go out on a limb and say a man of that wealth was probably smoking a Cuban Havana.

Thanks for the input folks. This helps. If anyone else out there owns some saddle shoes I'd love to hear about them. Comfort and price. You know, the usual chestnut.

Cheers!

I share this same problem...they look -cute- on other people...but anything resembling the orthopaedic shoes I had to wear, is just a huge 'ugg' to me.

Neece, who wore her first pair of non custom shoes in the 7th grade...

I have 5 pairs of Sadle shoes.

The Dexters are nice, The Bass are more comfortable, but for Comfort, quality & Style you just can not beat Johnson and Murphy.
