Maybe some info for that image is in order:

"This rather sinister image is one of the biggest mysteries in the history of western cartography. Most often referred to simply as the Fool’s Cap Map of the World, it is unknown why, when, where and by whom it was made.

The only thing that can be said about it with some certainty is that it dates from ca. 1580-1590. But sources even differ as to the type of projection used, some referring to it as ptolemaic (i.e. equidistant conic), others claiming it owes more to the techniques of Mercator and/or Ortelius (and being an enthusiast rather than a specialist, I’m not one to call this).

The map shows the world ‘dressed up’ in the traditional garb of a court jester: the double-peaked, bell-tipped cap (1) and the jester’s staff (2). The face is hidden (or replaced) by the map, giving the whole image an ominous, threatening quality that feels anachronistically modern. " bigthink.com

From the gauzy time before I knew of Johnny, Barry and the vintage piles, this Coal Headwear cap taught me to appreciate the paneled look. Still gets thrown on once a week...

That cap looks great, especially with your glasses. I'm very partial to panel caps myself, especially flopped over to one side like that.

Nice one, HatsWV. Nothing like a cap that feels just right. Particularly for us blokes with extra skin on top.

I just got one of Baron Kurtz's 1930's French denim workwear caps yesterday, and I have to say, it is a total killer. Fits me like a glove. And the denim really doesn't need a snap in front because when you shift it on your head, it stays how you put it. This one is going to get seriously better with age. I can hardly believe it's 80 year old denim - it's pristine. Thanks, Pete!

How does the back look on this cap? Is it similar to the old town cap?

Wanted to post BK's French work cap he had for sale.
It's made of selvage jean fabric. The cap is darted in the rear and has a round seam in the front of the cap like many modern day caps.
The cut of the fabric raises the front of the crown up off the bill of the cap. Which does not have any internal support.

Here's my first proper vintage newsboy cap... I was sold it as 1930's - can anyone verify this? It fits great and the wool is gorgeous - I'm a happy boy.
