Waldorf "Forentine"?

Hi Gents! (and ladies, of course)

I'm the new owner of a vintage Waldorf straw boater, which is marked Florentine Milan, as shown below.

It appears that it's never been worn, as it's still got the price tag tucked into the sweatband. ($13.95! can you belivce it? In my day......)

Anyway, does anyone have info on this brand?

I've never heard of them, but That's a very cool hat, what with the woven in stripes.

Looks like I'm reviving a pretty old thread here, but I thought I'd keep this together (even though the original photos are toast). "Custom Styled by Waldorf" 1950s pork pie I picked up at a recent estate sale. It's in very good shape, no flaws that I can see, 3 3/4" crown, 2" brim with an overwelt, and a generous 2 1/4" ribbon. The color is brown; original price $5.95; size 7 3/8".
