A fedora with a cowboy curl. Kind of sloppy.

+1. It's pretty bold, but he makes it look great. So, is it an Art, an Optimo, or some other custom maker? With those proportions and that styling, I wouldn't think that it's a production hat.

It looks a little like the Stratoliner curl. I like it a lot. If it was an OR, or something like that with a thin ribbon and a wide brim, I don't think it would have quite the panache, but with the medium brim and a wide ribbon, it is really cool.

Definitely a Westernised fedora. Wouldn't be my personal choice, but it certainly looks respectable. I can see this passing for business wear in the sort of two where they wear cowboy boots with a suit.

Although I wouldn't wear it that way, either pinch or curl, it looks perfect on him. Very nice.

Looks similar to the soft felts worn at the turn of the century before the snap-brimmed Fedora came into vogue. Looks good.

Very possible its just a vintage stratoliner/open road that he had a wider ribbon installed on.

That's what I was thinkin' too. (A view of the left [bow] side might offer further clues.) And the body color looks an awful lot like a Winchester offering. At least it does in those pictures.

If it is a re-ribboned OR, well, the binding has been replaced, as well as the band ribbon. That's certainly possible, of course, but it doesn't seem the likeliest explanation.

Evidence that what really matters is the confidence and comfort of the wearer! If you really are comfortable in it, the result looks good.

It's a great look that has been around for a long time, if you look at the crowd shots from before World War II. You just don't see it much in the hat-drought since 1960.

It looks great and with a more neutral color to the binding and the ribbon, it's a style that would go with just about anything.

I have a satin finish Knox 25 that I get lots of compliments on that has a brim like that. I like it.

I like it, though it would not suit me. I think it could easily be a vintage hat, possible NOS. Maybe an even an ebay find.

I think it's a great hat. I would wear it. It's about the best looking small hat with a cattleman crease that I recall seeing.
