Jannie, I truly can't remember...Do you think anyone would do such a knot knowingly??...If by any chance I manage to repeat the performance, I'll make sure I pay attention to the "technique"
Thanks! It's an eBay win from a year ago. From the 1920s (and with a '25 patent date) -- was deadstock in its original box. Came from a Maine estate.
Since you're doing such a bang up job with the shirt and trousers, is there any chance at replicating the cap?

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. I looked into it. The answer is ... probably not. Unfortunately.
In any event, I wouldn't be satisfied unless the repro caps could be made with this vintage 1920s-'30s silhouette:

You've seen this suit before but the accessories are different today. The picture quality isn't the greatest, but you should get the general idea.
I'm sporting my Knox 20, which I bought from fellow lounger, Tom-in-Perris.
The cuff links are from a colleauge, whose father recently passed on. He used to wear them in the 1950s.
The shirt and tie are new, from Harry Rosen. The tie is more of a gold, with tiny light blue specs in it. I realize the pocket square shouldn't be an exact match, but I'm working on something to highlight the blue in the tie.
I decided to shave the beard and go with a pencil 'stache for awhile. I hope it's not too cheesy!

You two are so cute! All of them are great, but I especially love that last one![]()
