I'm planning to order a greek fisherman hat for my uncle for christmas, and the one I plan on getting is a 85% Wool 15% Nylon blend, and has a leather sweat.... while I have a close approximation of his hat size by measuring one of my wife's hats that he playfully put on and noted how it fit him well, I'm wondering if it would be safer to over guess, or underguess his hat size?
if wool stretches well, and holds its size well, i'd prefer to get slightly smaller, and stretch it to fit him just right... rather than getting one that happens to fit too loosely, and having to stuff the sweat....
any advice?
