I always liked hats, even as a kid I wore them. Usually they were ivy caps or baseball caps. As I got older Mother Nature made it a necessity. See previous posts on sun exposure, cold, rain, etc.
Reminds me when I had to prune my grandmother's trees on her property. NO tree had been pruned in over 20 years. Man, that bit. Glad I had those leather work gloves.
I wear a Jaxon Monk porkpie. I know it's primarily for the "hipsters," but I usually dress casually and the porkpie seems to fit my wardrobe and personality a bit more.
I have a summer packer hat, it's not meant to be fashionable, but it does keep the sun and rain off your head. Mine's gotten pretty beat up but it does the job.
I have a Jaxon fur felt ascot, have had it for a few years. I haven't had any problems with it. Granted I don't wear it in the rain( caps don't keep the water from going down your back), it has held up.
