My Irish walking hat keeps me surprisingly warm through the Wisconsin winters. I think because the brim is turned down, it provides some protection for my ears. I used to walk to and from work wearing it and the temps would be close to zero. (I'd probably drive if it was much colder than that).
One of my students, a ten year old boy, is a big Indy fan. He likes to wear my hat when I'm working with him (he looks a lot better in it than I do). BTW, it's not an Indiana Jones hat, just a grayish green fedora.
I tend to wear my hat tilted back a bit. It makes me feel more friendly and Will Rogers-ish. I do take some guff from my GF and sister though. They say it emphasizes my high forehead (which goes all the way to the back of my head).
My father flew a B-25 in 72 missions over Italy and N. Africa. You'll note that his hat is tan. I've lost the crusher, but I still have the formal hat with the stiffener in it. I suppose I could take the stiffener out and wear it around the house with headphones on to make it into a crusher. :)...

Sorry, I'd been away from my computer.
The brim is 2 3/8" and the crown is about 4 5/8 at it's highest point. There's a picture of the interior above -- are there any other specific shots you'd like?
Thanks for your interest.
The writers used to say that not everyone will get everything, but the right people will get them.
I loved that show and I still watch the DVDs to this day. (Keep circulating the tapes.)
