Hat Renovation

Well folks it's finally finished. I took an old Stetson cowboy hat that belonged to my dad and turned it into a fedora. I had to replace the sweatband due to it tearing. I then changed out the ribbon, cut down and bound the brim.

Hey, not too bad, congrats! How did it feel to 'customize' your first hat? Any tips for us would-be customizers?

very nice effort. did you replace the sweat yourself & if so how long did it take?

It went rather easy but I have to tell you trimming and binding the brim made me very nervous. I just took my time and made sure my stitches were tight and close together. I did replace the sweat myself. It took about 2 hours over all to seam the sweat and then sew it into the hat. I've never done a brim edge with ribbon that wide before. I'll bet it was harder to do than the 3/8" grosgrain I normally use. You done good!:eusa_clap :eusa_clap
