Why are Buco jackets so collectible?

Does anyone here own a Buco? I don't know that I have seen much said about them. I think the pool of buyers for vintage leather over 1K is pretty small, seems folks would rather spend that kinda money on a new leather. Plenty of that going on. Lots of great MC, jackets out there for a lot less money. I'll post up my Taubers HH shirt in a thread. The Taubers are respected as are other brands, but not like the Buco. Actually makes the other quality stuff affordable!

I'm lucky enough to own 5 original Bucos, a J22, a PJ27 Steer, a PJ27 HH, the J27 Style King, and A J82, all suit my size.
All are amazing jackets, with a more pronounced v shape than other makers. I don't know why, but I'm sort of addicted to this Brand. Very functional and also very original here in Europe (France) ( I believe that D Pockets style never arrived here).
I also have a Buco repro of almost all the repro makers: Aero's J106, Lost Worlds J23, Schott's Black Stalion, and last but not least, the Real McCoys J24.

It's just a part of my collection.

Thanks for posting the Buco pics. They do like nice. I am a fan of the blanket lining. Do you have a favorite among the repros?

Fit is more of an issue in this style. Interesting these have a more pronounced V.

Do you, or have you owned other vintage MC brand jackets?

Concerning the repros, the most accurate I possess is the RMC (although could be a bit wider in the chest-sz 46) the shinky HH looks and smells wonderfull, the grain and patina are starting to make it a really bad ass look. The most comfortable but less precise is the aero (inaccurate collar, d pocket, no kidney pockets,...), very accurate, comfortable but heavy as hell is the one I call the "tank": the Lost Worlds J23 (not broken yet). The Black Stallion has been a better jacket: I don't like the shinny HH they use now, plus since they stop building the jackets with the fuse layer, the leather feels much thinner (I have the anniversary special edition whith cotton plaid lining and moutton collar), but it makes it a good waterproof jacket for springtime or automn.

About other brands, hum... yes actually I have quiet a few, mostly double riders jackets: A 50's Durable HH double rider (very very close to "The Wild Ones" Johnny's Jacket) and at my size!
A 50's Harley Cycle Champ,
Schott's late 50's steerhide perfecto (black Label)
Rich Sher 50's HH
Grais 50's HH
50's guide Master HH
50's 2 stars Antler HH
Etc,... all very nice jackets but a bit tight for me!

Thanks for the great information. I have the Hercules HH and the Sportclad both 44-46 and they fit. Finding a true 44 is difficult. The Hercules is a nice fit and heavy. The Sportclad is perfect fit and light weight. The leather looks like new modern fancy leather. Both have the great old HH smell. The Sportclad is so nice in fit and finish that I quit looking for another MC style jacket.
